The enemy is Other. The enemy is us.
They’re down here, they’re up there, they’re nowhere. They want the Earth, they want us to have it. They came to wipe us out, they came to save us.
But beneath these riddles lies one truth: Cassie has been betrayed. So has Ringer. Zombie. Nugget. And all 7.5 billion people who used to live on our planet. Betrayed first by the Others, and now by ourselves.
In these last days, Earth’s remaining survivors will need to decide what’s more important: saving themselves…or saving what makes us human.

Hi, everyone! We hope you’re having a great start of the week. We’re happy to announce today’s post.

Why we should read The 5th Wave Series! The 5th Wave Trilogy by Rick Yancey

We haven’t had the pleasure of reading this awesome series yet. Because you know our TBR list is endless, it’s been on our list since 2013! Our other excuse were because it was the 1st in the series, we’re the type that can’t wait for the next book because cliffhangers are a nightmare!!!! The other excuse we tell ourselves is Hardcovers are too heavy or pretty to mess up. So we wait for the paperback. But that is definitely not the issue anymore, right? Because The Last Star by Rick Yancey will be released in paperback this Tuesday, May 23rth, 2017. We asked ourselves why we should still read this series? So we went on an adventure and looked up all the cool things regarding this series.  If you haven’t read this series yet and wonder, like us, if you still should read it? Then stick around, we found some awesome quotes and reviews which we hope you enjoy. All credit will be given to the proper source so you can visit their site for the full article. Don’t forget that we’re having a giveaway which is provided by Penguin Young Readers!(below)

 Book Nerd Canada

5 Star Review from Book Nerd Canada! – The 5th Wave is a wonderful story full of survival, heartache romance, action, and adventure. The plot is simple, and the characters are overly complex and developed. That is why I’m in love with this book. You know exactly what Cassie wants, but Rick doesn’t let you off that easy. There are twists and turns that you didn’t even see coming. I like how it’s the end of the world and Cassie still carries books around! Shows how much of a BO-OK NERD she is :D). Make sure to visit her blog to read her full review.

The 5th Wave:     Love the campaign for The 5th Wave - uses a Tumblr, and some beautiful image assets to explore the themes of the book. Shareable and engaging for fans.:

4 Star Review from Awesome Book Nut – I see now, why all the hype. It’s a great book! It’s a fabulous rendition of an alien invasion apocalypse! The author did a fabulous job with all the MANY characters. Keeping their voices unique and separate. Creating a diversity of characters and any and every individual could find one to relate to.I loved the struggles, the lack of humanity, the twist and turns of the story, the characters trying to find the last of their humanity, the rough and rawness of the struggle for the planet and the humans. I felt this book has something for everyone in here. I just thought, for the most part, it was indeed fabulous. Make sure to visit her blog to read her full review.

***The Starry-Eyed Revue***

5 Star Review from Starry-Eyed Revue – The 5th Wave is very action-driven, and it keeps you guessing.  Sure, some of the twists are easy to predict, but because of how they’re written and how they’re alluded to, it didn’t bother me.  In fact, it just made me want to sit in the car and continue listening, to see if I was right and see how those twists affected the story and the characters.  This book is intense and riveting — a real page-turner — and I expect to see an even more explosive continuation of this story line, come August 2014.  This was my first Rick Yancey novel, but it will absolutely, positively not be my last. Make sure to visit her blog to read her full review.

The 5th Wave – Official Trailer

If watching the movie is more your style, by all means, go for it. We personally haven’t seen it. We actually like to read the book first if there’s ever a movie. However, to each their own right. There’s nothing wrong with watching it before reading.

From all the research we made I think it’s safe to say that we’re definitely excited to read this series! I hope this post has helped you decided as well. Please don’t forget to follow the links to the awesome reviews above. Plus now we can get to the best part of the post and that is the …
