Today officially marks the 4th year anniversary of my “blog baby”!😱

It’s crazy to think that I’ve been at this with my wonderful co-blogger Rebeca for four whole years, I’m super delighted and excited. It’s been a grand year that’s for sure! I’m grateful to some many of you.🙏🏼💖😘 I can’t even begin to express how much you have made me feel and how much I love you all. I sit here today and look back at all that has transpired, all the hardships that I have overcome and all the accomplishments that I have succeeded in.

The support from you, my readers, my followers have been incredible this past year. To receive an email or message on a daily basis thanking me for what I do, to supporting each other and/or for just being a constant source of inspiration is absolutely priceless to me. I am truly grateful for everything and every one of you in my life. This post has turned into a never-ending post, I’m so sorry😂 but please bear with me. There will be giveaways at the end of this post.  I promise it will be quick, painless and worth it? Maybe!😆

How we started blogging!

I know many of you have been with us from the beginning. However, this past year we made, many new friends. And we’d like to, give you a bit of history on “How we started blogging”. For me, it was actually 8 years ago in 2010. When I was diagnosed with a chronic illness called Fibromyalgia. Which is a medical condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain! Fast forward 5 years later, in 2014, I was at the lowest point in my life. I was (and still am) trying to start a family with no success and Fibromyalgia was at it’s worse.I was in excruciating pain, unmotivated and lifeless.

But on one fateful day, my cousin suggested I read the Twilight series.

I wasn’t really interested at the time, but my cousin was really tenacious (bless her heart).  Sometime later I was sitting around (miserable) and a thought rose to my mind. Why did I stop reading? When did it even happened for that matter? I mean I used to read all the time in elementary school. Scholastic used to be the best thing in my life. I couldn’t wait until the end of the month, I used to save all my money I’ve earned and spent it all in one shot on Scholastic.

I was such a big fan of R.L Stine (still am). I loved “Fear street series”. But the most cherished book I had read back then was unquestionable  “The Diary of Anne Frank”. This book shifted everything in me, It changed the way I saw things, the way I thought and it has forever been embedded in my mind. Therefore that thought was exactly why I picked a book back up again.

Now, I know Twilight is far from The Diary of Anne Frank.

However, this was the first book I had picked up since god knows when and I really had loved it. It’s is however in no way comparable to The Diary of Anne Frank, Twilight isn’t even near that category. But it is a book series that I will forever be grateful for, but before anyone gets infuriated with me, please hear me out. This book seriously changed my life and it changed it for the best. After being diagnosed with the chronic illness I was truly miserable, I had lost many of my friends because they just couldn’t understand or simply didn’t want to and saw a way out of our friendship. I was also diagnosed with anxiety and depression, badly (complements of Fibromyalgia) which hinder any type of social interaction (Which it’s still a huge problem in my life). I basically couldn’t do anything, I was mostly bedridden from being so sick, all the time and so that was my life until I started reading again.

Because of this series, I discovered this wondrous community and with this community came a lot of outstanding and fabulous friends that I will cherish for a lifetime.

Not only that, It has also reawakened my love for reading like never before and introduced me to blogging, which I genuinely love doing and that is something that I will never be ashamed of. This book seriously changed my life and it changed it for the best. I became more involved and started to make friends slowly and read a lot of more book. This community had made me forget about my pain, my hardships, and my depression, It has been a truly wonderful gift.

But I also know this book gets a lot of discussions and arguments that I totally understand. My eyes had been open to the problematic issues and questionable topics that I hadn’t seen before. Although I do still thank this series for giving me this great community and getting me back to reading. Though, do I promo and share my love for this series like before…….no! Because I understand the controversial matters this series is too young reads. My goal for my blog is to bring young reads prominent reads, with great writing, noble and worthy stories. But also with vast life lessons, where somebody can learn from the characters decisions and learn from them, yet also have some fun and lighthearted reads in between. In close, I will forever remember this series for what it has brought me, it will always hold a small portion of my heart because, without this series, I would have never met you.

Thank you so very much….to every individual supporter 💖of this blog!

I appreciate every one of you, to the book bloggers who regularly share, like and comment on my posts,💋 to the publishers and authors who trust me to review their ARCs💖. To my wonderful Co-blogger Rebeca, who is constantly there for me😍 and most importantly to my ever enduring husband who reads my posts, checks them and is my biggest supporter of my blog!💝💝

Here is a few words from my lovely, beautiful and talented co-blogger Rebeca!

Happy New Year lovelies🎊 🎉

I hope this new year brings you lots of Joy, Love, Peace, and Books😉 I really can’t believe Helena and I have been blogging for 4 YEARS NOW! Blogging is one of the things I love the most. I get to fangirl and share my thoughts about the books I love with YOU lovely people alongside my bestie, who’s a very talented person, an incredible friend and is always there to support me. I would really like to thank her again for trusting me and for giving me the amazing opportunity of being part of her blog, it is certainly one of the best things that have ever happened to me❤️

Now some amazing things that happened to me in 2017❤️

2017 was an incredible year for me and I’m very thankful for that. I was able to go to a book event in Dallas TX – the biggest book event I have ever gone to – where I met so many incredible authors and amazing readers. I made new friends and well I got home with tons of books🤣😋

I also went to NY for the first time in my life 😭😍🗽 it was an amazing and super incredible experience, I even listened to “Welcome to New York by Taylor Swift” as soon as I arrived 😋 I visited one of the places I have always wanted to visit, Central Park, and I love it, I really can’t wait to go back again! I was lucky to have breakfast with some of my favorite authors and bloggers while I was there, I was soooo happy I didn’t even eat🤣 I took lots of pictures and I was able to meet one of my best friends, Brittany❤️

I also participated in NaNo with my bestie and twin 🤣 Melissa from The Reader and The Chef – we have been friends for five years now 😭-  and we won! We are co-writing a story that we hope we can share with you someday, we still have to write more and we are determined to finish this book this year💪✍️ We both got planners to schedule our writing days and everything, as you can see we are serious about it 🤣😜

How we started blogging!

I started to read YA when I was in MS. The first book I read for my English class was Twilight and I loved it, but then for some reason, I stopped reading.  When I was in High School, one of my friends always brought her nook with her, I didn’t even know what that was at the moment LOL 🤣 I asked her what it was and she told me it was a device where she could read her favorite books, she also introduced me to GR and I was in awe.
I found lots of incredible books and finally I decided to read Firelight by Sophie Jordan and I loved it with all my heart! Then I discovered The Darkest Minds and read it, Something Strange and Deadly, Legend and once I started I couldn’t stop reading! I fell in love with books and then I found myself going to the bookstore every chance I got❤️
Later, in my first year of college, I got a DM from Helena, my lovely and amazing co-blogger, asking me if I wanted to be part of her blog, and I literally jumped out of emotion when I read her message. I even forgot to answer her right away because of how happy I was, my response? I sent her tons of emojis of course😂

I also want to thank YOU, for all your incredible support and for taking your time to read our posts, reviews and for being an amazing person, THANK YOU, please know that you all have a special place in our hearts.❤️

Isn’t Rebeca the most adorable person ever?

She has to be the most amazing and sweetest person I know. From the first time I meet her on Twitter, her bubbly character was so lively and loving, you could never forget it. Whenever I was having a terrible day its like, she somehow knew and she’d pop into my DM and we’d talk for hours with tons of emojis, of course! If you know Rebeca you know that she’s the Emoji 👑 queen and will brighten your day with her sweet emoji messages!

Therefore on this special day, I want to say a few words to my sweet friend.

Rebeca, you have become my best friend and confident throughout these 4 years. I want you to know that you can’t possibly grasp the thought of how much you mean to me. Not only because you’re my co-blogger but because you are also my beautiful best friend, a best friend that I never had, a best friend that I wished for oh so many times. You are extremely generous with a tremendous heart, who is so understanding, remarkably loyal and wonderfully sincere. I will forever be grateful to you and will forever love you. Thank you for being you.

Well damn! 😂 It got a bit emotional. (fans face with hands to dry tears)

Nevertheless, Rebeca and I want to thank all our friends and followers, we didn’t want to forget to mention anyone, so we decided to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of you. So please accept our giveaways as a gratitude and love for ever single one of you. You can enter all the giveaways below, thank you again for 4 years of happiness!

Your Fibromyalgia story is touching. I am happy you have found a place on the webs where you develop and enjoy good relationships. ‘Twilight’ has been the ignition of many young ladies reading enthusiasm. There is nothing wrong with that.
