An Epic Story: Once A King by Erin Summerill

An Epic Story: Once A King by Erin Summerill

I received this book for free from a Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.  When I read the synopsis of Once A King I found myself eager to read the other books in the series, Ever The Hunted and Ever The Brave. I have been wanting to read those books since forever and of course that after loving the synopsis of this book so much – because honestly IT’S AMAZING – I immediately requested an ARC of the book. I jumped out of emotion when I got approved to read the book and I immediately started to read it. Once A King is for sure one of the best […]

A heart to protect. A debt to repay. A game to win. Legendary by Stephanie Garber

A heart to protect. A debt to repay. A game to win. Legendary by Stephanie Garber

This was a great tale but not as great as Caraval, in my opinion. Legendary was slower and less magical. It was a story between two people and their love for each other. I was expecting more magic, more games or even just mystery, just like Caraval but in the end, this story was mostly character built then it was action. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it was still a prominent storyline with great characters. Even though I knew who Legend was from the beginning, it was still an entertaining story, for the most part. The plotting did have some enjoyable moments and some twists that were truly unpredictable. Still, Legendary wasn’t exactly a fast-paced story that I thought was going to be but I retained […]

Swoon Thursday: Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco

Swoon Thursday is a delicious meme hosted by the fabulous ladies at YA Bound! If you’d like to join all the introductions are below. This week, our swoon Thursday is from: Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco [mild Spoiler] “Are you certain that’s what you’d like me to believe, Miss Wadsworth? That you’re here, in this cabin alone with me, because you choose to be… of your own free will…with no motive? You simply wish to spend the morning with me?” I nodded, not trusting my voice to remain strong when the rest of my nerves were ready to crack. I saw the hunger in his gaze then, the longing he couldn’t cover with any mask. I knew he wanted to kiss me, though I wasn’t […]

A Magical Read – Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix by Julie C. Dao

I received this book for free from a Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Julie C. Dao is one of my all time favorite authors. Her book, Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, was a beautifully well written story filled of darkness, magic and hope. It’s a book that as soon as I finished reading it I wanted to go back and read it again❤️ Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix was absolutely beautiful and a definitely a delightful read. What I love about Julie’s stories is how she incorporates both, the good and the evil and how we are able to see the way the characters take decisions that without […]
